Name: Riccardo Pisani
Date of birth: 23/08/1981
Competing for: Show Jumping - Italy
Riccardo Pisani started riding at the age of 6 and received a solid preparation for his professional career in the pony ranks participating to Pony and Junior European Championships.
At the age of 18, he won the Italian Junior Championship with Dionisos, with whom he also regularly took part as Young Rider in the Nations Cups.
Only after his marriage to Silvia Bazzani in 2008, Riccardo set off on his own stables in Northern Italy. The couple started buying young horses to train up to the highest level. One of the first ones was Chico Z (Coriano Z x Jackson), with whom Riccardo took part in the Grand Prix of Rome twice and in several Nations Cups.
Since 2013, Riccardo Pisani has been showing in high-level international sport with professionalism and perfecting the technique.
In 2018, Riccardo met the horse that would go on to change his life, Chaclot, and the pair has exploded onto the international scene and has become one of the pillars of the Team Italia.
Among their CSI4* and CSI5* Grand Prix are venues like Gijon, Hickstead, Barcelona, Rotterdam, Verona, St. Gallen, Calgary, Piazza di Siena, La Baule, Aachen and the Longines FEI World Cup.
They also competed at the 2018 FEI Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, marking one of the four double clear rounds.
In 2021, the Italian Equestrian Federation selected the pair as reserve for the Olympics Games in Tokyo.
Riccardo is a revelation that owes as much of his success to his phenomenal Chaclot as he does to Jos Lansink, who has enabled the pair to progress to the highest level.
A true perfectionist and a competitor with real passion for the sport, Riccardo Pisani is one of the committed riders who fight to defend the values of the sport off the track, while setting an example on the track.
